Youtube and how I got 'Big'
THE BEGINNING
Before i got 'popular', I was just a regular, normal, internet nooblet like you guys lolol. I went on youtube like 30 minutes a day, roamed around, and watched my favourite youtubers (kinda like what you guys do) Back then, i watched youtubers like KEVJUMBA, JUSTKIDDINGFILMS, NIGAHIGA, SHIMMYCOCOPUFFSSS, SMOSH and THEWINEKONE. I'm not a hundred percent sure but i think the first youtuber i watched was SMOSH, and this was before they were on youtube.
But yeh, i loved watching these guys, they were killing it on youtube and a majority of them were Asian. I was amazed at how popular and 'famous' a person could get through the internet and Youtube, so like any other person in the world, i wanted that too! so i tried to make youtube videos myself.
STARTING OUT AS A NOOB
I think the first time i thought of making videos was while watching nigahiga's videos. I was like "pffttt, i can do this shit, i can do it, and maybe even better" <--- LOLOL at arrogant kent. So like Nigahiga, i started my first (official) video with LIP SYNC-ing a song. Back in the day, lip syncing songs was hip and COOOL. (so the opposite of me ROFLOL) and that's why i started with that. So if you guys go to my Youtube channel and look at my first video, it's a lip sync to Captain Planet theme song.
Took me 20 minutes to make it. Posted it on Youtube. After one week... 100 views. LOLOL Youtube was harder than i thought. It's extremely hard to start with. I hear a lot of people try to get famous/popular on Youtube but never succeed cus they give up too early. But the key point to it, like anything else, is STICKING TO IT! STICKING IT HARD! (thats what she said) So what i did, (a lot of noob youtubers do this) is send out my CAPTAIN PLANET video to like 100 youtubers a day, and go "HEY! CHECK OUT MY VIDEO!" i think i did this about, everyday for a month. LOLOL noob to the max But it didnt really work. my captain planet video was still like 200 views after a month. so I decided to make a few more videos and hope they come out better.
MAKING MORE VIDEOS
I made a few more videos after this. I cant remember what they were... cus i deleted them (cus they sucked eggroll) but one of the good ones that i didnt delete was "Why Asians can't sing". That video has the worst camera quality ever, but its so funny. (as in shit funny rofl) This video got the attention of people. it got a lot more views than captain planet... probabaly cus people were angry.
I got a lot of comments of people saying "ASIANS CAN SING, BITCH! FKN CHINK!" (ROFLOL) So yeh, but bad press is always good press (i dont know if that 'press' thing applied to my thing cough uhh im confused now) But it was when i released ANGRY ASIAN PARENTS... a lot more people came along and watched the noob asian called Mychonny.
KILLING IT ON YOUTUBE
I was killing it on youtube from then. I had so many ideas and jokes. releasing videos like BAM BAM! BAM BITCH! SHAM WOW! SHIETT! roflolol I would release sick as videos like "Asian or white girls, How to be a teeny bopper, and my most fabulous Stereotyping one... Why people dont understand Asians.
It was cool. i was getting like 20,000 views back then. and i thought i was a big shot. when i went to school, i would cut in line at the food court, CUS I WAS VIP! BITCH! lol jks.
But a lot of people were recognising me around the streets. especially places where a lot of asians chilled. They were like "HEY MYCHONNY!" and i was like "whuh?" cus back then i kept forgetting that my ALTER EGO name was chonny. so when people would call out CHONNY! i would walk past and think they were talking to someone else ROFLOL. (jokes, i was just being a snob, CUS IM VIP! BITCH! roflol jks again) Those were the good days.
TAKING A BREAK
After the video "Why people dont understand asians" i bought a better camera. SD QUALITY BABY! MUAHAHA ROFLOL state of the art rofl. I then released a few good videos like "POCKY" "The day i met joker" and "Angry Asian Parents pt.2" and they exploded too. hitting like 200,000 views and shit.
I was so VIP baby. i was cutting through the lines of mcdonalds and shit now. some guy would be ordering a MC chicken burger and i would be like BITCH! (pushes in line) THAT'S MY MC CHACKEN! BAWK BAWK! IM VIP! IM RICK JAMES BITCH! roflol JOKES (just being a loser) But yeh. This was the time when i was getting recognised like SHIT LOADS. like oh my god.. it got annoying. lolol listen... just listen (i mean read) to what i gotta say first.
The fans got a lil annoying.
I mean, I LOVE MY FANS. dont get me wrong. LOVE em like crazy. But it started to get bad. I was getting recognised at shops n on the streets like EVERY week. When i would be eating dinner or lunch with friends, people would come up and ask for signatures, my PHONE number LOL, and ask for photos... I TOOK THE PHOTOS ( i just got annoyed they stopped me from eating LOL )
Then fans started stalking me when i was walking home, or going to shops, or to the library (yes bitch, i study at the library) and it kinda got on my nerves. like.. i was always being watched... made me a lil paranoid. So i decided to take a little break. This was the time i didnt make videos for like 3 months and i cut my hair short. people always have asked me... WHY CUT YOUR HAIR?! well, it's cus no one could recognised me with the new hair do LOLOL. i was like a normal human again. just your typical asian kid who likes pizza and uhh girls rofl.
After about 3 months, i was like SHIET! NO MORE RESTING FAT BOY! TIME TO MAKE VIDEOS! and thats exactly what i did! some of my finest work to date was made lolol. videos like "Goku" "Asian and White parents" "AAP part 3" and my all time fave... "my crazy sister"
BACK TO YOUTUBE
So here i am! making videos still. rofl... my videos getting like over 2 million views now... just WAY TOO CRAZY. from 100views to 2 million. makes me jizz in my pants LOL Also seems pretty crazy how i was a nobody (i want nobody nobody but chu!) and now im some kinda internet celeb (rofl, sounds so gay...) But the thing is, anyone can do it. you just need dedication, a lil talent... and more dedication.
IT TAKES TIME BABY! took me about 8 months to get 'big' or 'explode' IN YOUR FACE! (thats what she said again) It still amazes me how most of my fans have stuck by me... watching my videos. make me really happy. and if you stop me from eating to take a photo, i will be cool about it! just dont stalk me. i hate that. LOL. and dont call my house. People calling my house lately asking for chonny ROFLOLL ... jesus...buddha...moses ROFL
